University of Lagos(Unilag) gets new VC

Professor Rahamon  Adisa Bello has been elected as the new and 11^th Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos. He is a professor of Chemical Engineering. His appointment takes effect from today, November 12, 2012 and would last for a period of five years.
His appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Unilag was as a result of the death of the former VC,   Prof  Adetokunbo Shofoluwe. Professor Bello who was the Deputy Vice-chancellor (Management Services) has been serving in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor in an acting capacity since May 12, 2012.
The Governing Council at its special meeting held on November 10, 2012 resolved and unanimously  adopted the report of the Selection Board that Professor  Rahamon Adisa bello be appointed Vice-Chancellor with effect from Monday, November 12, 2012
