Paul University, Awka Raided By Gunmen

Gunmen on Wednesday raided the female hostel of Paul University, Awka and dispossessed the students of their cash and various items, including mobile phones.
An eyewitness in Awka said that the armed gang carried out the operation for several minutes unchallenged.

The Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr Ikechukwu Abana, who confirmed the incident, said the hoodlums came in the night and attacked the female hostel.
He said that some students had their phones and money stolen.
Abana said the opening in the fence surrounding the institution from where the gunmen gained entry into the school had been sealed.
He said that management had also applied for police presence in the school for night patrols.
“With all the efforts we have made, we are sure such incident will not happen again. The university is seriously addressing the matter,” Abana said. (NAN)
