Keeping up with the Kid Stars

They sprung up in the 80s and 90s, when Nollywood was just springing up. Take a walk down memory lane as we remember the stars who seized the Nigerian entertainment scene when they were just pitter patters of little feet.
Sharon Ezeamaka
She’s starred beside some of the biggest names in the industry. After nearly fifteen years on screen, this Dear Mother star is just getting started. Sharon started out at five years old when she landed a role in the 1997 movie, Narrow Escape. Although she recently took a short break to ‘reinvent herself’, but promises to be back with a blast pretty soon.
Isosiya Dokubo
No doubt, the surname rings a bell before the first name. But you guessed right. This former child star is the first son of Nollywood starlet, Hilda Dokubo. Isosiya who started acting at about five years old, left the Nollywood scene as a teenager.

Now 22, Isosiya is a graduate of Middlesex University, England where he studied Information Technology with Business Information Systems. Reports say that he also recently bagged a Masters Degree from the same school. During his time as an actor, he featured in more than 20 movies that include Without Love, Angel, Dead End, Burden, Abandon and The Widow.
Tosin Jegede
Before it became a primary school marching song, the single ‘Parents listen to your children’ was a little girl’s brain child. Tosin Jegede began her music career at four years old  in the 1980s, and released three albums. She left the country about sixteen years ago and returned with a degree in Business Decision and Analysis from the University of Bristol, England. Tosin is now an education advocate
Benita Okojie
Although this 24 year old sometimes goes by her middle name, Bisola, to avoid all the attention, she hasn’t had much luck. The little girl who sang Osamudiamen is still very much alive in the hearts of people. Benita, a graduate of English language from Redeemers University, recently finished her NYSC.
Peter Bunor Jnr
This child star, and son of veteran actor, Peter Bunor is hard to find, even on google.  Naturally, Peter is not a child anymore but he broke the hearts of thousands of fans when he vanished from the television screens about twelve years ago. Rumour had it that daddy stopped him from acting. But recent quotes from Peter state: “I feel there is a great need for formal education, it’s a very strongly held personal opinion. Hopefully, I’d return to the industry when the right thing pops up.”
Oge Nwuba
If you were alive in 1999, you watched After school hours, or at least you heard about it. But you probably won’t recognize Oge Nwuba if you drove past you in her Silver coloured Kia Sportage (oops that car was snatched by robbers recently). But you probably won’t link her to the 1999 movie. After studying law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Oge was called to the bar. However, in 2011, after her own school hours, Oge returned to her first love-Acting.
