The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) yesterday said all is now set by the organization to launch the new driver’s license on December 3.
FRSC’s sector commander for Kaduna State Olu Micheal Olagunju said in Kaduna at a stakeholders’ forum that the nationwide launch of the new driver license is expected to check mate those who are not qualified to ply the roads.
“Anyone found with any medical challenges that would pose a problem to him and other road users will have their licenses seized until such person is found medically fit to drive,” Olagunju said.
The FRSC Sector commander said it was imperative to ensure strict compliance with the new driver license following the rate of road crashes.
For any driver to be issued the license, according to him, such a driver must be made to go through medical certification to include particular visual test, mental balance among other test.
