O’jez Celebrates Ejike Asiegbu As He Clocks 50

Ejike Asiegbu’s contributions and meritorious service to Nollywood has not gone unnoticed as the industry he had served for 27 years now has planned a massive birthday party for him at this month’s O’jez Entertainment Forum Award.
The Nollywood veteran who turned 50 few days ago would be celebrated tomorrow at the celebrity restaurant, O’jez, inside National Stadium premises, Surulere-Lagos, with highlife music, comedy and dance.
According to Chief Joseph Odobeatu, Chief Executive Officer of O’jez, “The oncoming event is a special one for us at O’jez because Mr. Ejike Asiegbu is a member of the O’jez family, also, it is not every day one attains the golden year. So it is very special for us as we celebrate a film icon”.
Odobeatu pointed out that Sunday’s event will be different from other O’jez monthly awards ceremonies.
“We are bringing a large number of performers for Ejike Asiegbu because he sure deserves to be honoured. For the first time in many months, we are bringing wave making comedians, such as MC Shakara, Elenu and Elder O together on one stage. It uses to be either one of them anchoring the O’jez monthly award but since Sunday event is a special one, we are bringing energetic Awilo the dancer and captivating African Michael Jackson. It is going to be a loaded evening I must say,” he said.
He described the actor as “one with a big heart, a fearless fighter, activist and humanitarian, adding that “we all pray he lives much longer for the next generation to tap into his wealth of experience”.
Expressing happiness and appreciation over the planned Sunday show, Asiegbu said, “When members of your constituency decide to honour you, no honour is greater than it. I am pleased, I am excited and I am looking forward to Sunday”.
