he National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Wednesday, cited flood and security challenge as reason for it to shift orientation course for 2012 Batch ‘C’ corps members scheduled for November 6 nationwide.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Press and Public Relations Unit in the NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Mrs. Abosede Aderibigbe, in Abuja.
The statement said, “the orientation course for 2012 Batch ‘C’ corps members will commence on the 6th of November, 2012 nationwide except in three states of Bayelsa, Borno and Yobe.
“The postponement for Bayelsa State is as result of the recent flooding in the state and the subsequent accommodation of displaced victims at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kaiama and security challenges for postponement of the course for corps members deployed to Borno and Yobe states”.
According to the statement, “corps members deployed to all the three states of Bayelsa, Borno and Yobe will have their orientation course from Wednesday, 28th November, 2012 to Wednesday, 19th December, 2012 at the NYSC Camps at Kaiama Grammar School, Kolokoma-Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State; Wanune in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State; and Magaji Dan Yamusa in Keffi of Nasarawa State respectively”.
